Executive Director 

Safe Inc. of Schenectady, a not-for-profit organization, is seeking an Executive Director who has a passion for developing and implementing strategies to promote, provide and expand outreach, shelter, counseling, and supportive services to homeless youth who are at risk and vulnerable to or have been subjected to, sexual exploitation and trafficking.

Job description/Responsibilities:

Accountable to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for staffing, programming, expansion, execution of its mission and the creation of a culture of success. The ED will ensure ongoing quality service provision, programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration. The ED will demonstrate the ability to develop knowledge of core staff, core programs, operations, and strategic planning. The ED will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and ensuring financial stability and viability.



Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree accepted with experience, high integrity leadership capabilities and preferred management experience including but not limited to: five or more years senior nonprofit management experience with demonstrated experience working with a Board of Directors; a history of successfully generating new revenue streams, improving financial results and fundraising experience; previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies and volunteers; solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation; experience complying with governmental regulations and funding requirements; sound financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting; proficient in written and oral communication, including public speaking; and strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
